I to would like to thank the NEC team for their hard work in promoting the AFE a hard task in these difficult times. We had mixed days of trading but taking an overall view we were happy with the results.

Unlike the above trader – The staff were on call throughout the fair as always and visible most mornings in a pre opening scout around the fair. On the later two days again as always staff made visits to all stand holders within my eyesight. The only time the team do not hover is when stand holders are very busy – which is the decent thing to do.

From my point of view bringing up the date line on china was a god send. I welcomed the guidelines as did others. This should be extended to lighting and other objects of virtue where it does not currently apply. I feel a broader and open view of 20th Century art and objects of virtue [ with a provenance would help bring new and a younger client base. There is also a need to promote these changes after all many of the artists, architects, designer etc were and in some cases still are highly qualified in there fields were should be proud to embrace them.

In the current climate it may be better to shorten or reconfigure the structure of the show.
Having a dealers only day and only two public days.
This could be debated.
