Iconic movie posters from the 1950s, 60s, and 70s will be going on sale at The Chester Antiques Show, at the County Grandstand, Chester Racecourse, 20th – 23rd October 2011.

This regular autumn Chester event is a fair that well-known organiser Caroline Penman has been running since 1989 and is a prime fixture  of the
Northwest antiques scene. For the past few years the fair has broadened its appeal and, in the need to attract those elusive young collectors, movie memorabilia has been pulling them in. Birmingham-based dealers Sue Jeffrey and Terry Pearson who trade as Quadbod, after the movie-poster size, take a large stand to show fab posters from the 1920s-1970s. Sue and Terry have alternative careers on the stage and have appeared in countless stage shows, panto and on TV and radio.

Sue and Terry bring their best stock to Chester, and it’s equal in quality and rarity to posters on sale at the best London galleries. Among Quadbod’s original posters in regular quad size will be James Bond movies including You Only Live Twice (1967) priced at £1,250, For Your Eyes
Only
(1981) at £300, and View To A Kill (1985) at £500.

A very rare collection of five original posters printed and used at the London premier for the movie Grand Prix (1966) will also be of great interest because of their rarity. Each poster features a different actor: James Garner, Eva Marie Saint, Brian Bedford, Francoise Hardy and Jessica Walter. The movie also featured cameos from the leading F1 drivers of the day, including Graham Hill, Jim Clark and Jack Brabham.
Quadbod will also be exhibiting many more famous posters including The Graduate (1967) at £550, My Fair Lady (1964) at £300, The Sound of Music (1965) at £300 and Bridge on the River Kwai (1957) at £450.
