Established in 1984 Neil and Ian Franklin deal in antique English silver of the
highest calibre from perspectives of rarity, condition, design and provenance.
Initially dealing exclusively with the trade (both domestic and export) we have
grown and evolved and have over the last decade or so, had the privilege of
dealing with some of the most major private collections in the world as well as
the curators from museums such as The Victoria & Albert, Williamsburg and
Birmingham. Notwithstanding this regardless of whether a client is wishing to
build an extensive and important collection or a single purchase, the same
standard of personal attention, advice and integrity is employed. (in point of
fact our expertise is further valued by the vetting committees of both the
Olympia and Grosvenor House Fairs)

with a focus on pieces of exceptional merit, including specially commissioned
items with royal or aristocratic provenance and pieces designed by architects.

I started my business in the 1980′s dealing in and sourcing fine, early, English & Continental furniture.  I have made research my niche which has enabled me to discover and authenticate rare pieces of early furniture.

20th century art has been an area of personal interest since my 20′s, and I opened my gallery in 2000 dealing in a small selection of signature pieces by Modern British masters.

Earle D. Vandekar of Knightsbridge is owned and run by Paul Vandekar.  Historically known for our outstanding antique ceramics, I have also added new lines to the inventory that the company sells. Thus in addition to Chinese Export, English and European antique porcelain and pottery, I have created one of the most extensive collections of 19th-century British sailors’ woolworks (known as woolies) in the world, and feature other specialized antique textiles such as Georgian silkworks. I have also expanded the company, which still bears my father’s name, to offer an exquisite selection of 19th century Chinese watercolours and hand-coloured engravings of various subjects from the 18th and 19th centuries from across the world, as well as portrait miniatures and other period decorative arts.

My mission is to offer our clients pieces which reflect my passion and the keen eye I have developed for the world of antiques. My commitment to excellence has made it my privilege to delight collectors and designers as well as museum curators for the last thirty five years.
