Hill-Stone are private dealers in prints and drawings from the 15th century to the early years of the 20th century. Founded more than thirty years ago by Alan N. Stone in Northampton, Massachusetts, the firm moved to New York in 1980. Lesley Hill is, as the name of the firm suggests, the other principal.
As private dealers, Mr. Stone and Ms. Hill have pursued interests somewhat apart from the traditional canons of taste. While they have always maintained a strong interest in German prints of the Renaissance and Dutch prints and drawings of the 17th century, it is the art of the 16th century in Italy, France and the Netherlands that they have chosen to explore more fully.
Their other great interest is the art of the later 18th and early 19th centuries with a specific concentration on Romanticism and Neoclassicism in all its national manifestations. Their passion for the curious and the arcane is, if it be a fault, one to which they will readily admit.
The firm is located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, on Park Avenue, only a few blocks from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. They see clients by appointment. Institutional clients include The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the British Museum, the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, Musée du Louvre, Yale University Art Gallery, Smith College Museum, Saint Louis Art Museum, Cleveland Museum of Art, National Gallery of Art, Washington, National Gallery of Canada, Davis Museum at Wellesley College, Fogg Art Museum, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Art Institute of Chicago and The Getty Museum, among others.
They are members of The International Fine Print Dealers Association (www.ifpda.org),Private Art Dealers Association (www.pada.net), CINOA (www.cinoa.org), and the Paris based Chambre Syndicale de l’Estampe, du Dessin et du Tableau. Mr. Stone has served on the Board of the Private Art Dealers Association and is currently on the Executive Board of the International Fine Print Dealers Association as well as a Member of Print Quarterly Publications, London. Ms. Hill is a member of the Grants Committee of the International Fine Print Dealers Association.
They exhibit annually at the Winter Antiques Show, Works on Paper, the International Fine Art Fair, Master Drawings London, and The Print Fair.

Moderne Gallery is internationally renowned for its high quality, vintage 20th
Century furniture, lighting and accessories. More than 16,000 square feet on
four floors of its historic “warehouse” building in the Old City section of
Philadelphia are filled with an extensive inventory — from French and American
Art Deco and French 1940′s -1950′s to exclusive Wharton Esherick pieces and the

“Modernism: A Century of Art and Design” show in New York City. Since 1997
Moderne Gallery has exhibited at the Philadelphia Antiques Show, the first
all-20th century gallery to be invited to the prestigious Philadelphia show. In
June 2000, Moderne Gallery exhibited at SOFA NYC 2000 (The International
Exposition of Sculpture, Objects and Functional Art) in New York — the first
gallery to focus on early vintage works from the American craft and
studio furniture movements at this Expo. Moderne returned to SOFA in June 2001
