Fiumano Fine art are delighted to be hosting ‘Fake Identities’, the first UK exhibition of the Italian artist Dario Ballantini’s work. For the exhibition we have selected a body of work that reflects Dario’s outstanding painterly ability and comprehensive understanding of the masters who came before him.
Dario is unafraid to experiment with his medium of choice, thickly impasto acrylic paint on canvas or board. The majority of his works are on a large scale, allowing him complete freedom to manipulate and control the paint with mastery and bravado.
Dario Ballantini is one of the most exciting contemporary artists working in Italy today. His natural flair combines with a deep academic understanding of hisplace within western art history and contemporary society. In his canvases he may be blurring the boundaries between reality and fantasy but his identity as a serious and highly collectable contemporary artist is unwavering.
The exhibition will run from Tuesday 31st January – Sunday 5th February.
Private view Tuesday 31st February 2012, 6.30 – 9 pm
